Formosa Aboriginal Culture Village was established in 1986; total area is 62 hectares. The culture village features aboriginal cultures, combining tourism, culture and educational functions. It is located in Yuchi, Nantou County, near Sun Moon Lake. The culture village has made great efforts in updating the amusement facilities and services and has shown the vigorous spirits of the aboriginal tribes.

Located in the center of Sun Moon Lake, Lalu Island was called Guanghua Island in the past. Sun Moon Lake is the most famous water reservoir in Taiwan. Lulu Island is known as the island on the water. This area was dwelled by the Shao tribe in the past and the island had been called Lalu until 1946, when the government renamed it Guanghua Island. In the severe earthquake in 1999, Sun Moon Lake reservoir was damaged and a historic site of the Shao tribe was discovered. Thus, in 2000, the island was renamed Lalu again. The Shao tribe considers the island a sacred place and thus tourists cannot visit the island; however, you can still learn about the Shao tribe along the tracks surrounding the lake.

Ita Thao is called Barawbaw in thao language. The Han people call it North Cave. It was named Te Hua village after the restoration of Taiwan, and is under the administration of Yuchi. Barawbaw is the last residence of the thao people at Sun Moon Lake. On account of the continuous stream of tourists, many Han people moved here to go into trade. Therefore, Ita Thao becomes the most populous area around the Sun Moon Lake. There are stores, restaurants, and hotels in the village. Also the thao people establishes the `thao Cultural Village` for tourists to appreciate the traditional culture, songs, and dancing of the thao tribe.

Aowanda is famous for maples. It is canyon in the west of the convergence of Danan River and Wanda River, which are the origin of Wushe Reservoir. Every autumn, maple leaves in Aowanda turn red and flutter in the air. Aowanda has different faces in different seasons. From February to September, tourists can enjoy the comfortable weather, the forests and the flowers. In May, there are many fireflies shining at night. Autumn and winter are the seasons to appreciate the beautiful maple leaves and plants. Aowanda is perfect for hiking, bird-watching, and contacting the nature.

Affiliated with Taiwan Tobacco &Liquor Corporation and founded in 1917, Puli Brewery makes fragrant and mild wine with sweet Ailan spring. The wine had been selected as royal wine since Japanese Colonial Rule Period. One of the most famous wines made at Puli Brewery is Shaoxing wine. Recently, Puli Brewery  has been developing Ai-lan white wine and Ailanshi Chiew, etc. and popular side products made from wine, including Shaoxing wine popsicles, Shaoxing wine sausages, Shaoxing wine glutinous rice, Shaoxing wine braised food, and fruit punch cake, etc.

Mt. Maolan Hiking Trail is located at Mingtan middle school. You can go through it to Taiwan Tea Research and Extension Station, Yuchi Branch and Weather Forecast Station, Sun Moon Lake Station. The length of this trail is about 4.6 kilometers. There are farms of Asam black tea and cedar trees here. It is also the best place of sunrise- watching.

The length of this trail is about 1.5 kilometers. All the steps of trail are made from red bricks. You can see many water-fowls in the morning. Walking down to the wharf, you can see the beautiful scenery of Ci`en Pagoda, Lalu Island.
